How to get there
We encourage visitors to use environmentally friendly forms of transport wherever possible. Most of our reserves are easily accessible by bicycle, with many close to the National Cycle Network. Click here to view a location map of the reserve on the National Cycle Network website.

Alternatively, from Hill Lane/Cadbury Camp Lane, Tickenham. Limited parking can be found at ST436722.

Access
Access to the reserve is on foot only. Access is restricted to periods when livestock are not grazing the reserve. During open periods a permissive path leads along the bottom of the lower meadow and through the southern woodland. There are extensive views across the North Somerst Levels and Moors from Cadbury Camp Lane West.

Wildlife and conservation
The site comprises a mixture of species-rich calcareous grassland, scrub and ancient semi-natural woodland. It is designated as a Site of Nature Conservation Interest.

The woodland floor is dominated with bluebell and dogs mercury during the spring with many places containing early purple orchid and town-hall clock. The grassland areas are rich in limestone flowers including Autumn lady's tresses, Autumn gentian and salad-burnet.

Silver-washed fritillary, brown argus, dingy and grizzled skipper butterflies have been recorded at the reserve.

Further information
The reserve was partly gifted to the trust by the daughters of the Auther and Bullard families and partly purchased with support from YANSEC and Mr. A. Carey.
