Summer Events Programme 2007
Saturday 7th July, Prees Heath Butterfly Reserve
A return visit is planned to the Prees Heath Butterfly Reserve, where last year a small number of us were able to see the delightful Silver Studded Blue butterfly, and many other species. More details can be obtained nearer the time by calling Viv on 01 270 664691.
Thursday 6th September, Wood Lane Nature Reserve and Working Quarry.
A member of Shropshire Wildlife Trust will lead a guided tour of the quarry workings and the nature reserve. A maximum of 30 people are permitted in the party, and a total charge of 360 will be made, the cost to be split amongst all who attend. Please book your place, not later than Thursday 20th August, by calling Viv on 01 270 664691.
Winter programme 2007/8
October 17th -- A beginners look at Fungi A welcome return from our old friend Jack Smith
November 21st -- National Heritage Arboretum, Staffs A guide from the arboretum will give an illustrated talk.
January 16th -- Australian Adventure; a return visit from John and Margaret Sixsmith, who will show slides of Fraser Island, Magnetic Island, and the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland.
February 20th -- Sun, Stilts and Storks the Rev. Hugh Linn returns once more to show us slides and to talk about the birds of the Algarve, Portugal.
March 19th -- A Lens for all Seasons another welcome return from John and Tracy Langley, who will show slides, and talk about Wildlife through the year.
All meetings start at 8pm, in the Methodist Schoolrooms, Hospital Street, Nantwich. Cost is £2.50. inclusive of light refreshments
