Caring
for Countryside and Coast
Cumbria Wildlife Trust is a registered charity established in 1962.
Supported by over 15,000 members, we work in partnership with landowners,
local authorities, other conservation organisations and businesses to conserve
and protect wildlife and wild places throughout Cumbria. We care for over
40 nature reserves, which include peat bogs, limestone pavements, ancient
woodlands and coastal sites. The Trust advises on the wildlife impacts of
development and land management, and carries out essential wildlife survey
work.
Increasing
Involvement
Cumbria Wildlife Trust aims to widen awareness about wildlife: we
campaign locally and nationally on issues affecting wildlife, and run an
extensive education programme, helping all ages to gain a greater appreciation
and understanding of nature. There are many opportunities for volunteers
get involved with the vital work of the Trust such as practical conservation
work, helping with fundraising and becoming a Wildlife Watch leader. To find
out more go to Get Involved.
