Beached Art
Sunday 28 June, 11am-4pm, St Bees

A celebration of sealife for all the family!

Bring your spade, your friends and a sense of fun and join Cumbria Wildlife Trust in creating a sand menagerie of marine wildlife on the beach at St Bees on Sunday 28 June.

They are inviting all beach lovers to take part in designing and making a sand sculpture to illustrate how wonderful our living seas truly are. Basking sharks, starfish, minke whale, cuttle fish and periwinkle are just a few of the amazing creatures that you can create on the day but there are many more to chose from.

You don't need to be an expert; you just need a bit of enthusiasm. You can enter as an individual or as a team and kids are welcome too. To take part complete a registration form or request a copy by telephone on 01931 711022. You will also be provided with information on how to plan and create your work of art.

Fun to be had on the day includes rockpool rambles, bird walks, artist workshops, kiddies' activities and face painting. There will also be informative stands on how to avoid eating threatened species of seafood, the protection of natterjack toads, Cumbria Wildlife Trust's coastal nature reserves and its Wealth of Wildlife Project and many more.
