At DWT we value our volunteers as vital members of the
team. With a variety of tasks to choose from, DWT hopes to encourage a
wide range of people to actively participate in wildlife conservation.

Practical Volunteering
Managing DWT nature reserves for the benefit of wildlife
is a critical, yet time-consuming, operation. Volunteers help to keep
DWT's nature reserves in top condition for wildlife. Conservation working
parties regularly visit reserves all over the county, all year round,
undertaking management tasks such as small pine removal, scrub clearance
and hedgelaying. Volunteering on a reserve would be fun for anyone who
enjoys the great outdoors and loves to get stuck in.

Recording & Monitoring
It's not just practical work that volunteers can get
involved in at DWT either. Other activities include recording and monitoring
butterflies, flowers and small mammals; Great for budding botanists and
entamologists alike!
The Great Indoors
If the Great Indoors sounds more appealing, many more opportunities
are available. For example in marketing and fundraising, administration,
research, conservation and publicity.
No Skills? No Worries!
DWT volunteers needn't have any specific skills, just the
drive to help their local wildlife charity. In return, people have the
chance to develop and learn new skills, enjoy fresh experiences, meet
like-minded people and achieve satisfaction in doing 'their bit' for Dorset's
wildlife.
One day of voluntary help is worth an amazing £50
to DWT from our sponsors as matched funding. So, whatever time anyone
has to spare is greatly appreciated, not only by DWT but wildlife too!
