As a charity the Trust depends on support from people and various organisations. The more support we get, the more we can do for local wildlife and people’s enjoyment of it.
Herefordshire Nature Trust is inviting you to adopt one of the county's native species and help us to make a difference to the wildlife and wild places in Herefordshire.
The dormouse, a shy woodland creature, is a priority species in Herefordshire. They have disappeared from seven counties in the UK, but they are still surviving in Herefordshire and are present in at least six of our nature reserves. The Trust and its volunteers monitor dormouse populations and feed results back into the National Dormouse Monitoring Programme.
The money raised by your adoption will go towards the costs of carrying out this work, directly contributing to the survival of this species so that populations can continue to grow. So why not give an adoption as a Christmas present or as an unusual gift to family, friends or loved ones?
Adoption of a dormouse costs just £15, those who adopt receive a pack containing:
- an adoption certificate
- a fact sheet
- a photograph
- a fun pop-up species to cut out and put together
