Breathing Places, launched by the BBC in 2006, is a three-year campaign to promote local action for wildlife. The BBC supports the campaign through its broadcast and online network, including the main Breathing Places website www.bbc.co.uk/breathingplaces.
Breathing Places has a simple purpose: to inspire everyone – friends, family and neighbours - to create and care for green places wherever they live. From neighbourhood parks, school grounds and workplaces to local nature reserves. Places that are great for wildlife and for people too.
The campaign aims to encourage avid viewers to get off their armchairs & sofas and explore the great outdoors – to be inspired by nature and to take action for wildlife.
