Our sister Wildlife Trust for Birmingham & the Black Country is a key partner in an ambitious £50M bid for lottery funding to transform the Black Country into an Urban Park - and you can help it succeed!
‘A Million People: Black Country as an Urban Park’ includes four key projects: ‘Strata’ focused on the Wren’s Nest National Nature Reserve, Dudley; ‘Canals and Waterways’ with new moorings, education and interpretation facilities along City Canals in Wolverhampton; ‘Green Bridge Park’ including a new low carbon footprint visitor centre at Barr Beacon; and ‘Living Landscape’ with enhanced and increased access to natural areas around the canal network, involving over three-quarters of the one million population.
Only one project out of the 4 short-listed will get the £50M - and your vote can help the money come to the Black Country and to nature conservation.
Find out more details from their website http://www.blackcountryup.co.uk or from the BBC in the Black Country.
Don't forget - your vote counts!!
