Open Gardens Scheme

Gorgeous Gardens

Small tortoiseshell on sedum

In 2006 the Trust launched its first ever open gardens scheme to raise funds to protect Herefordshire’s wildlife. If you have ever visited an open garden or held an open garden day yourself you will know that they provide a wonderful opportunity to show off your gardening prowess, meet new people and raise funds for a good cause.

How can you help?

If you would like to hold an open garden event - whether you have a big or small garden we’d be delighted if you would like to get involved. Your garden doesn’t have to be perfect or a haven for wildlife. However, for those gardeners that have wildlife friendly gardens there will be a special category.

If you would like to enter your garden into the scheme please contact the Trust.

What we can do to help you

When you enter your garden into the Herefordshire Nature Trust Open Garden Scheme we will provide you with a pack containing helpful hints and tips about how to arrange a successful event. We will also publicise your event in Wildside, the Trust's magazine.
