Sun 6th HMWT Guided Walk - dragonflies on King's Meads NR Meet at 10:30am on the Windsor Industrial estate, Ware road (next to Chadwell springs Golf club) Ware. Approx 2 hour walk. Limited places, booking essential. Minimum donation £2.00 per person requested. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring binoculars if you have them! Sorry but no children under eight years of age.
Sun 6th HMWT BBC  Breathing Places Event -  dragonflies at King's Meads NR 12-4pm.  Find us on the towpath between Ware and Hertford,  adjacent to the reserve.  Trust staff on hand to point out the dragonflies that can be found here. Bring binoculars if you have them and wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear - particularly if the weather has been wet beforehand!  We are not able to provide any special parking arrangements, so please observe any local parking restrictions or agreements that generally apply to each site. Tue 8th Welwyn Hatfield Walk - Monk Green Farm and glow worm hunt Meet at 7.15pm at Monk Green Farm [TL335085]. In Hertford take A 414 at Tesco roundabout turn right in 200 yards into Mangrove Lane. Continue via Balls Park for 2 miles.  Turn right for Monks Green.  Farm half mile at end of road. After farm walk, glow worm hunt will start at 9.45pm. Sorry, no children under eight years of age.
Sat 19th HMWT                 Woodland orchid walk  Danemead  Nature Reserve Meet 10a.m in the Martins Green  car park off  Cock Lane, Hoddesdon.  Approx 2 hour walk.  Minimum donation £2.00 per person requested. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring binoculars if you have them! Sorry but no children under eight years of age.
Sat 25th Welwyn Hatfield Stort Valley Wildlife Walk Approx 7-8 miles.  Leisurely scenic walk from Roydon to Sawbridgeworth along the canal tow path returning by train. Meet at Roydon Station car park at 10.00am [TL405105]. Bring a picnic and binoculars. Booking essential via Dave Laming on 01438 798213.
Sun 27th   North Herts Butterflies at Sharpenhoe Clappers   Dark green fritilleries and marbled whites. TL 065295.  Meet 10.30 am in National Trust car park top of Sharpenhoe Hill.  Distance 2 miles (3 km)  Optional pub lunch/own refreshments.

Sun 3rd HMWT BBC Breathing Places Event - butterflies at Aldbury Nowers NR 12- 4pm. Find out about the butterflies of this chalk grassland reserve- including fritillaries, marbled whites, commas and skippers.Look out for us where the Ridgeway (from Pitstone to Aldbury) runs through the reserve.  Bring binoculars if you have them and wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear- particularly if the weather has been wet beforehand!  We are not able to provide any special parking arrangements, so please observe any local parking restrictions or agreements that generally apply to each site.  (SP950129)

Sun 17th HMWT Late summer wildlife - Amwell Reserve Join Ellie Beach and Tim Hill for an introduction to Amwell's late summer wildlife. We'll be looking out for migrant birds stopping off to feed on their way south for the winter. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and bring binoculars if your have them. Tue 2nd North Herts Grey partridge farm walk - Therfield  2 hour walk on farmland, guided by with Alex Butler (Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust) to find grey partridge and to hear about this conservation project. Meet at 6.30 pm near Therfield, Royston. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and bring binoculars if your have them. Minimum donation £2.00 per person requested. Sun 7th HMWT BBC breathing places event - Silvermeade Look out for water voles in the Lee Valley Regional Park.Guided by Trust and LVRP staff, find out how we're improving habitat and helping to increase water vole populations throughout Hertfordshire. There will be a range of children's activities (including a mini beasts hunt). Look out for us either on the towpath next to Silvermeade or in Broxbourne Old Mill and Meadows car park. Off Mill Lane, Broxbourne. Nearest car park is the Lee Valley Park's Old Mill and Meadows car park. 10am -4 pm. NB We are running this project jointly with our partners in the Hertfordshire Water Vole Project. Silvermeade is within the Lee Valley Regional Park. Parking charges may apply.

Fri 12th  Harrow  Children's event - bats and moths  Fryent Country Park. 7.30pm-10pm 
Sun 14th  Welwyn Hatfield  Walk - Alpine Meadow NR and Berkhamstead Common Walk to enjoy chalk grassland flowers, deer, veteran beeches, and basking lizards (weather permitting!). Meet Campus West car park, WGC at 9.30am to car share or at 10.00am at Bridgewater School at top of Bridle Way. In Berkhamstead High Street turn right at lights at Crooked Billet into Billet Road, cross roundabout, up hill to school [SP987086].Walk 4-5 miles. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and bring binoculars if your have them. Minimum donation £2.00 per person requested.
Tue 23rd  Welwyn Hatfield  A Chilean encounter  Illustrated talk by Chris Ward on the birds mammals and landscapes of Chile. Meet at Howlands Baptist Church, The Commons, Welwyn Garden City at 8pm.

Sun 28th  HMWT    Apple picking - Tewin Orchard Getting ready for Apple Weekend in October - willing helpers always welcome. Meet at Tewin Orchard NR between 10am-2pm. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring packed lunch. Take the B1000 from Welwyn Garden City to Hertford, turn left through Tewin village, continuing towards Burnham Green. Pass the cricket ground. Tewin Orchard is on the right.
