Sat 4th - Sun 5th  HMWT   Apple weekend - Tewin Orchard  Celebrate the eighteenth annual Apple Weekend (and the 10th anniversary of the Hertfordshire Orchard Initiative) at the Trust's Orchard. Orchard fruits, apple juice and preserves will be on sale, with cider, tasting, hedge laying demonstrations, longest peel  
Sun 12th  Harrow  Children's fungi walk  10.30am - 12am - Fryent County Park 
Sun 12th  Harrow  Working party - Stanmore Common  Combined working party and walk. 1.30 - 3.30 pm 
Sun 12th  Welwyn Hatfield  Walk - Pegstone and Telegraph Hill  Meet 10am at 'Live and Let Live' pub on B655 - 3 miles east of Hitchin (TL122303) or in Campus West car park (WGC) at 9.30am to car share. Optional pub lunch/ bring own refreshments. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and bring binoculars if your have them. Minimum donation £2.00 per person requested. 
Sun 26th  North Herts  Winter birds at Tring Reservoir  We'll be looking for winter birds arriving back at the reservoir. Meet 10.30 am Startops car park - off B489 by the Grand Union Canal (opposite the White Lion pub). Car sharing from Hitchin by arrangement. Optional pub lunch/own refreshments. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and bring binoculars if your have them. Minimum donation £2.00 per person requested. 
Tue 28th  Welwyn Hatfield  Farmland birds and Hope Farm  Illustrated talk by the RSPB's David Nobbs. Meet at Howlands Baptist Church, The Commons, Welwyn Garden City at 8pm.

Sun 9th  Welwyn Hatfield  Red kites walk - Chilterns  4-5 mile walk to watch red kites and other local wildlife. NB steep, muddy slopes likely up to Ibstone Common. Own refreshments essential. Meet 9am at Campus West car park (WGC) to car share. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and bring binoculars if your have them. Minimum donation £2.00 per person requested. Sun 23rd  North Herts  Winter birds at Amwell  Bird watching at this recently improved nature reserve. Meet 10.30 am in Amwell Lane, off B414, just before St. Margaret's Railway Station in High Street. Car sharing by arrangement from Hitchin. Optional pub lunch/own refreshments. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and bring binoculars if your have them. Minimum donation £2.00 per person requested.

Sat 14th  HMWT   BBC Breathing Places Event - Verulamium Lake  Look out for ducks at Verulamium Lake, St Albans. Get your Christmas Quackers in early! Come and join Trust staff to find out more about the variety of ducks that visit this parkland lake. Nearest car parks - off St Michael's Street, St Albans (follow signs in town to Roman Museum) or Westminster Lodge (bottom of Hollywell Hill). Parking charges apply. Look out for us on the lake edge (5 mins walk from either car park). 11am - 3pm
