Practical Reserve Work

resitomat@wildlifetrustswales.orgRegular work parties are held on our nature reserves, managing species and habitats and maintaining access for visitors.
We have three main work parties:
On reserves in north Conwy, north Gwynedd and Anglesey - meeting regularly on Wednesday and occasionally on Thursday
On reserves on Anglesey and in the Bangor area - meeting regularly on Tuesday and occasionally on Thursday
On reserves in North East Wales (Denbighshire, Flintshire & Wrexham) - meeting on Tuesday and Friday
We also have these special nature reserve projects running at the moment!
At Marford Quarry get involved in the Green Horizons Project, take part to the volunteer tasks each Wednesday! Opportunities to get involved in all aspects of the project, from practical work on reserves, education and also organising events!
At Spinnies Aberogwen
help maintain this bird-haven site! NWWT Arfon branch has a monthly work party on the reserve, normally on the first Thursday.
At Gwaith Powdwr nr. Porthmadog **BOMBASTIC**
Join keen volunteers at Friends of Gwaith Powdwr, meeting regularly on Wednesday to help maintain and develop this ex-gunpowder works site.
Survey/Monitoring Work
Contact us, as this type of work changes depending on the season. Get in touch for the latest news or follow the links below to find out more about each project. You might become involved with the Dormouse Project, the Harbour Porpoise Project or maybe work towards the Mammal Atlas or the BTO Bird Atlas!
Marine Awareness

Marine Awareness was established in 2001 by a group of enthusiastic volunteers who wanted to spread the word about the wonders of the marine environment and the importance of its conservation. Today, the majority of our work throughout North Wales is achieved by dedicated volunteers.
Why not join us to conserve North Wales’ marine life and become a Marine Awareness volunteer? There are a number of volunteering opportunities available from joining us on one of our beach cleans to helping out at our Centres on Bangor Pier.

The first stage is to complete the Volunteer Application form.We really like for everyone to apply online, however if you prefer to use a paper version, you can download the form here.
Once we have your application form we will be inviting you to meet us with other potential volunteers so that we can introduce you to the work of the North Wales Wildlife Trust, its history, how we work and discuss your volunteering options. Please send us your application form before the meeting so that we can highlight what might suit you and ask other members of staff for their input.
These inductions take place either at the Bangor or Loggerheads office. If you cannot attend either location or times, let us know, we will phone you to arrange a convenient time. We hope that by the end of the meeting you will be enthused enough to decide when and where you'll be starting volunteering!
Under 16 yrs old? You're never too young to volunteer!
You are still very much welcome to volunteer with us, just make sure you complete the parental consent form and bring it to the Volunteer Induction. You will find the form once you fill the online Volunteer Application form.Already volunteering?

We hope all volunteers will be happy and confident to talk with their supervisor or any other member of staff at any time, still every 6 months we invite all volunteers to send us some comments as part of their volunteer experience. It will be available on the Volunteer forum to do it online once fully operational, in the meantime, you can download the volunteering review form here.
