education
Whatever the age or ability of your group, there are lots of exciting activities to choose from on our nature reserves. Days are carried out as half or full day workshops chosen from our mix-and-match menu of half-day activities overleaf. All outdoor workshops can be followed up with worksheets and other valuable classroom exercises. The Wildlife Trust’s Education Team provides high quality, hands-on environmental education activities on our nature reserves, which can enhance the teaching of many areas of the curriculum, particularly science, geography and PSHE. Our qualified team are very experienced in working with groups of children and young people. We aim to give those taking part a sense of joy in being outdoors, and an insight into the wonders of the natural world. All necessary considerations are given to health and safety, and we work with teachers in advance to select appropriate activities and plan your visit. All necessary equipment and activity sheets are provided for the day. We have a variety of fascinating nature reserves to explore, and also operate from two centres: Attenborough Nature Centre and Cottam Education Centre. For more information on our education programme please phone Lynn Victor on 0115 958 8242
