The Gleadless Valley Wildlife Group Constitution |

The Gleadless Valley Wildlife Group aims to protect, conserve and where appropriate, improve green spaces for the benefit of wildlife and people, primarily in the Gleadless Valley area of the City of Sheffield.
The group exercises the following powers to achieve these aims: 1) To, as resources allow, record survey and monitor the wildlife and environment of Gleadless Valley and other areas. 2) To encourage and, where appropriate, undertake habitat management/ enhancement and environmental improvements in the Gleadless Valley. 3) To encourage and where appropriate, undertake access and recreational maintenance and improvements which are sympathetic to the rich wildlife and environment of the Gleadless Valley. 4)To encourage an understanding and appreciation of the environment, its care and protection, by working with educational establishments of all kinds and the wider community. 5) To organise indoor and outdoor events for members of the general public 6) To work for the protection of land from damage by inappropriate development, pollution and any other detrimental impact. 7) To work and lease with statutory and non-statutory bodies to help achieve the aims and objectives of the group. 8) To publicise and promote the group’s aims, events and projects by a variety of means 9) To, at the discretion of the group, raise funds through membership, grants, donations and other appropriate means, in order to further its aims.
Organising Committee The committee of the group is elected annually by the membership or at such time as a vacancy occurs. Membership is by annual subscription as determined by the committee and is non-discriminatory. Dissolution Should the group cease to exist, its assets will transfer to one or more bodies established for exclusive charitable purposed within the same as, or similar to the aims of the group.
