7.0 Events on your green space

If your project is going to have a long-term future, and to develop a place for itself at the heart of your local environment, it is important to involve as many people as possible. Organising an event doesn’t have to be a huge task, especially if you use the skills of people you already know and spread the work amongst a range of partners. Involving as many people as possible will not only lighten your own workload but will also increase the amount of input from those living near to the project. Events linked to your green space should inspire, enthuse, and generate wider public support for what you are doing. They also play a vital role in environmental education, using events with a theme or message as a tool to teach people about wildlife.
